West Hendon S278 works – A5 West Hendon Broadway
The Major Highway Works Scheme which forms part of the West Hendon regeneration, has now been completed.
The works which began in 2024, have transformed the road network in the Broadway area by:
- Removing the Perryfield Way gyratory system and reducing traffic circulation on residential streets
- Making Station Road two way and allowing traffic to turn right and left from West Hendon Broadway into Station Road
- Changing direction of traffic flow on Wilberforce Road and Herbert Road to discourage through traffic
- Upgrading the traffic lights at the Station Road and Cool Oak Lane junctions
- Adding new traffic lights at Ravenstone Road
- Creating a new pedestrian/cycle crossing on West Hendon Broadway at the end of Stanley Road
- Upgrading drainage, street lighting and bus shelters
- Enhancing the public realm with new trees
